It's getting warmer, which means like most families you are getting busier.
Here is a great granola recipe, to help you have something nutritional yet yummy in your to go bag.
2 cups Rice Krispies
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup corn syrup (or you can use honey if desired)
1/2 cup reduced-fat peanut butter (or use regular peanut butter)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4-1/3 cup mini chocolate chips (or to taste)
1. Prepare an greased 11 x 7-inch or 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl combine Rice Krispies cereal, oats and raisins.
3. In a saucepan stir together/combine corn syrup or honey and brown sugar; bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring with a wooden spoon; remove from heat and add/stir in the peanut butter and vanilla until well combined.
4. Pour over the dry ingredients in the bowl; mix to combine.
5. Stir in the chocolate chips.
6. Transfer the mixture into prepared baking dish.
7. Cool and cut into bars.
